Write your goals for the school year. Be as specific or abstract as you'd like to be! | I've blogged before about our goals for the PantherTech Iniative and where we're headed in the next 5 years. You can find it here and here. It never hurts to discuss goals because it helps keep you focused and on target. I try to keep my goals SMART-based as well because then they're specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and relevant, and time-bound. That means success! |
So, the goals this year are to:
On a more abstract or personal level, my goals are:
- Implement PantherTech Initiative at CHS and choose a device for next year's rollout by April 1st.
- Complete PantherTech Initiative project items according to established timeline.
- Implement SAMR training for staff with complementary buddy system like Teach Like A Champion.
- Coach at least 10 staff.
- Update school website and align social media methods.
- Have all CHS staff with website / social media by July 1.
- Host monthly tech workshops for staff.
- Host at least 2 tech workshops for parents and community members.
On a more abstract or personal level, my goals are:
- Create a culture of trust and collaboration with staff by completing requests in a timely manner and by mediating technology issues with administration.
- Keep work and life balance that so eluded me when teaching.
- Have a ridiculous amount of fun. I love my job, and I want to keep it that way.
- Keep students at the fore-front of everything we do. They matter, and this initiative can show them how important they are to us.
- Run a 10K. I have to go the distance this time. No giving up because of weather or laziness.
- Get enough people at CHS fired up about Link Crew to start a program so we can take care of our most vulnerable students - our 9th graders.
One of my favorite quotes is from the Canadian poet, Shane Koyczan, in his poem "We Are More", which was commissioned and performed at the Vancouver Winter Olympics. He said: | "We are an idea in the process of being realized... |
So that's my biggest goal this year. I'm not just saying these; I will make them be.
