Name the top edtech tools that you use on a consistent basis in the classroom, and rank them in terms of their perceived (by you) effectiveness.
I use a lot of EdTech tools. I tend to experiment to see if there's something else that I could be using. While I may add to my repertoire, these tools are a constant.
1. Google Drive - If you haven't become a Google Apps for Education school yet, it's time. From calendar to voice to drive to classroom, Google is your one-stop shop for building a digital environment. It's great for collaboration, communication, and transformation.
2. Unstuck - This app is awesome for helping you through a block. It won't solve the issue for you, but it will help you approach it from different angles and ultimately through it.
3. Evernote - My life is organized because of Evernote.
4. Kindle App - I can read whatever I want through our town library without ever having to leave my couch. No internet? No problem. Find a wifi hotspot and download as many books as you can to get you through to your next wifi hotspot.
5. iMovie - Making a movie on your iPad? iMovie is free and easy.
6. Socrative - Want to do easy formative assessments that compile data for you so that you can plan your instruction to best meet your students' needs? Want to make it interactive? Socrative is it.
7. Twitter / Instagram / Youtube / Pinterest - I use my social media to communicate with colleagues, parents, and students. I also use it to curate resources and to show people the positives of technology.
8. Screen-cast-o-matic - Screen-cast-o-matic is a free tool that lets you record anything you do on your computer screen and puts it into a nice video format. It's great for recording instruction or for your students to record and present their mastery of a concept.
9. Remind - I used this to text message reminders to my students. They don't have a my actual phone number, so I never had to worry about prank calls at 3 in the morning.
10. Weebly - Super simple, super intuitive website / blog creator. I built my personal leadership portfolio site in less than an hour.
This edtech tools are in no particular order because I find them all to be equally important in completing their particular tasks.
