We have survived our first week back to school. By we, I mean our network. So far, it's running fast, well, and reliably. We did have some hiccups in some SMARTBoards and projectors not working the way they should have, new teachers and kids not having log-ins or catnet emails, and current students emails not allowing access. Our teachers and students need to be able to access their computers and Gmail from day one, so we'll be developing a back-to-school checklist to be sure that those hiccups don't happen next year. That said, our problems have been few in relation to other school districts whose IT Technicians are seeing upward of 100 computer repair tickets PER DAY. Per day. We're way under that, with an average of about 35. Positives have been seeing our teachers, parents, and students accessing and using the technology. I get to co-teach at CHS this week and help out at CIS this week and next. Today was especially awesome seeing our 5th graders at CIS using iPads to complete a Back to School scavenger hunt. They were collaborating, learning the appropriate way to use the technology, and most importantly, having fun. We've definitely had some ups and downs this week with technology, but the ups are definitely more frequent than the downs. Here's to continued successes and solved problems!
